Summary: Perfect for puddle jumping
Comment: These boots are the best boots I have ever owned--they look super sharp with skirts and dresses--they are amazingly warm, and they are truly waterproof-I walked through a huge puddle yesterday and my feet didn't get wet at all. On top of all that they are extremely comfortable. The perfect winter shoe--what more could you want? While they stick out a teensy bit from underneath jeans it isn't really noticeable and they still look good. They even made my jeans look better on me. For anyone looking for a good nice looking multi-purpose boot I highly recommend these!!

Summary: So cute, urban
Comment: These boots are SO cute and just what I was looking for. Cool, high, comfy (they are Merrells, after all) and have an element of motorcycle boot to them (I feel like Lara Croft, Tomb Raider in them). They look adorable over jeans or pants like Hard Tails and they would look cute with skirts too. They have a level of sophistication to them, too, but not as much as your skinny heel boots would. But if urban cool is your look then you should be happy.

Summary: Beautiful, but had to be returned
Comment: This boot is beautifully crafted. Everything about it is perfect - a modern version of the venerable Wellie. But as I had ordered online, I would later find they had to be returned.

Why?

The top opening of the boot is fairly wide and as I live in jeans, it made the material just below the knee pop out and hang in a manner that was unacceptable. The boot is grande enough that I considered taking to my shoe smith to cut the top off and finish off at a lower height, but that seemed senseless.

Given the right skirt style, the boot would be perfect, but for jeans - even boot cut, they did not work for my leg length.

It saddened me to return these. Merrill has done a nice job of creating a boot that works well for the city environment I live in. But they missed on the jean fit factor.

I'm giving the boot 4 stars on product quality - they may work for you - I hope they do.

PS...a Chelsea boot version of this boot is available which I ordered today. Although shorter than desired, I love the style of this boot too much to pass up altogether.

Summary: practical and cute..just don't look down
Comment: these are super comfortable. the textured sole and being completely waterproof made them great for hiking around DC in December. i felt secure walking on slick/wet sidewalks, and hiking across soccer fields, since they easily rinsed off. they are very stylish, and you would never guess they were so practical for cold/wet weather. fit true to size. i did get lots of compliments on them. my only ick about them is that when they are on my feet, and i look down, i do not like how narrow they look (i'm used to a more rounded toe). but otherwise, this is a great way to get style in a boot that is practical.
