Comment: I purchased these at my doctor's recommendation because I have custom orthotics in my shoes for knee pain. When I tried to put my new orthotics into my running shoes, the built-in arch support in the shoe was preventing my orthotics from lying down properly in the shoe, causing me a great deal of discomfort.

The Spenco soles work great because my orthotics fit in easily and comfortably, but they still provide a soft cushion for the rest of my foot.

Summary: 5 Stars For What They Do Best
Comment: I have been using these for years, unfortunately they are getting really hard to find. Here's what they do for me: They provide a thin, even, layer of padding that provides a little extra cushion while building up the footbox to give a tighter fit for narrow feet inside workboots and tennis shoes. I use them under the factory insoles so they last forever and don't "crush down" like some of the other brands. It's really hard to find good, thin insoles that don't have an extra build-up on the heel (which raises my heel out of the heel box). If you're looking for arch support or other "features", this isn't the product you want. But if you need a little extra padding or snugness without changing the basic fit of your shoe, these Spenco's can't be beat - I tried "gellin'" and they s***.
