Comment: I thought these boots liked nice online, but they're disappointing in person. The inside looks like styrofoam, and the leather was already wrinkled when I got them. They also fit like a 9 or a 9.5. The wool is nice but they were very unimpressive overall and would definitely let snow in around the ankles.

Comment: I purchased a pair of Maxine of Canada, black, velcro-fastened boots in 2007 and they are the most wonderful boots I've ever had: well-made, waterproof, nice-looking. I was thrilled when I found a pair of brown boots by the same company in a zip style in my size on Amazon. When they arrived, I was delighted. They were good-looking boots, fur-lined--looked great--until I tried them on. I don't know what they were thinking of at the Maxine factory but those boots were so narrow at the top of the boot (under the toe) that they cut off my circulation. Rather than go through the hassle of returning them to Amazon I gave them to my daughter who wears a size smaller than I. They were too narrow for her too. We ended up giving them to the poor. I thought perhaps this particular pair were irregular so I tried on an exact pair at Macy's only to find the same experience. I wish I could tell the Maxine company to fix their zip style and I wish I could buy a velcro style like the one I have in brown leather as well as black. The whole experience taught me never to buy shoes on the internet even if you know your size.

Comment: This was not the boot pictured when I was shopping. (It's the style if you clicked brown but not black.) I don't know what the website problem was but I wasn't too happy with what it looked like when it arrived. It won me over with the curly shearling lining that makes you want to wear it all day. The sizes run slightly smaller than the average American boot. It's very well made. I would buy this brand again.

Comment: Was pleased with the fit of these boots. Normally you would have to try boots on before purchasing them in the store, but ordering online with this brand proved a pleasant surprise. They are true to size and arrived on time well packaged. Would tell anyone who was considering buying from this manaufacturer, that they are very well made and that they should be pleased with them.
