Summary: ** IMPORTANT ** You don't need one for each ear!
Comment: I bought two of these fancy iPod thingies because I like music and wanted to listen to music while I'm moving around. These things work great and I can hear music through the ear phone thingies.
Unfortunately I didn't know that the iPod came with 2 headphones which allow you to put one in each ear. I thought I'd need to buy one iPod for each ear so that's what I did. (big mistake) So, for anyone else out there who's as confused as me you only need to buy one and it works in both ears at the same time.

Summary: Thought it was Great...
Comment: I first purchased this item about a year ago for a Christmas present. It worked great for the first couple of months and then it would randomely turn off when it still had full battery! I thought that I could deal with that but it kept doing it more often, and then a few days ago it just shut off. It had half a battery still, and it won't turn on or even charge. It's competely busted! Blank screen and skrewed up. I saved my money for a long time to buy it and now I probably can't even get a refund :(. A waste of money and I'm left with nothing.

Summary: Great Product
Comment: The iPod Classic 80Gb is probably the best product regarding MP3 players Apple currently has. It is stable and it has proved to be a good device. Although iTunes is not good enought (slow, heavy and buggy) the device itself is pretty good. Just remember...DON'T DROP IT !!!!

Summary: A couple more features would be perfect
Comment: It works very well. Sounds fine, and boots very quickly. Here are the things which could be better:
You cannot control how files are stored and access them by that organization. I am used to using that on my computer, squeezebox, and old iriver, and find it very useful there.
You cannot put rockbox on it. This seems to be because apple doesn't want you to, so they thwart it. Too bad, since it would cure the first problem.
The quick start instructions could be clearer on operating the touch wheel (just touching for "dialing" vs. actually pushing it). I had a lot of trouble until my daughter set me straight on that.

Summary: a collector's dream
Comment: I got the 160G ipod for my husband who has thousands of CD's, LP's and even 78's of traditional Irish Music. He is loving putting them all onto itunes + then this ipod - he's done A-C so far!
