Comment: My husband and I received this book and another bridal cookbook for our wedding one year ago. It is not only a great cookbook, as all Betty Crocker cookbooks are, but it blows the other bridal cookbook out of the water. I have a friend getting married in September 2008 and I fully intend on giving this as a gift.

Summary: Better than I thought
Comment: For my recent wedding, I ended up receiving several bridal cookbooks from people at showers. A couple of them were only so-so, so when I opened this one from an out-of-town aunt I thought, "Oh boy, here's another one." But I've been pleasantly surprised by this one. There's nothing real fancy to it, since I guess it's supposed to be aimed at brides who know next to nothing about cooking, but it's definately one of those comforting kind of cookbooks that reminds you of food you ate growing up with mom's cooking. I've tried a few so far out of here and the new hubby liked them all. The thing I've enjoyed the most about this book though is that it gives you all the nutritional information for each dish. That's a rarity to see unless you're buying a diet cookbook. That was the biggest plus! Again, there's nothing very challenging in this book, but to a bride (or groom) who hasn't done much beyond maybe scramble some eggs, that could be a very good thing. Now that I've received this and enjoy it, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it for another new bride.

Summary: Perfect Wedding Gift
Comment: I bought this as a gift a few weeks ago and I was so jealous when I recieved it! I have been married 11 years and somehow never ended up with this book and I was sorely tempted to keep it for myself. The array of recipes is amazing and so diverse. There are pictures on each page that show what the perfect finished product looks like, what it looks like underdone and overdone per each recipe's situation. Example, underwhipped cream, perfect whip cream and overwhipped cream, which is great for someone starting out cooking. The visual aids are such a bonus. I will definantly be ordering this one for myself! Another bonus was that on her registry this book was $30 and I bought it on Amazon for $20 with free shipping!!!! Can't do better than that. Plus the cover is beautiful for a new bride.

Summary: EXCELLENT book for someone who does not know much about cooking. =)
Comment: I ordered this book because I really am interested in cooking for my soon-to-be husband, but unfortunately have not had too much experience. This cookbook is amazing! It provides details and even pictures! It shows you, for example, three pictures of rice-when it's under cooked, over cooked, and just right. I definitely recommend this to anyone who needs that extra little help... or even just a few reminders. ;)
